Howto model the Mortice and Tenon joint in FreeCAD
This tutorial shows how to use FreeCAD to model mortice and tenon joinery used in fine furniture and other applications. This tutorial is intended for furniture makers and wood workers who want an alternative to SketchUp for designing furniture, boxes, etc.
I will demonstrate how to create the mortice and tenon joint by designing a table leg representing one corner of a table with two stretchers that attach to it.
In this tutorial you will learn how to to design the parts, how to assemble them, and finally how to animate the parts to show how they go together.
Workbenches used:
- Sketcher
